This is a Variscite cabochon necklace made with an adjustable leather cord. The necklace cord is made with sliding knots allowing you to adjust the length of the cord to your preferred fit.
Variscite is a green mineral with US localities in parts of Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming. People have been known to confuse Variscite with Turquoise. One way to easily seperate the two minerals is with color. Variscite is usually mint green while turquoise is sky blue.
I made the necklace with a cabochon I purchased at the Tuscon Gem and Mineral Show.
The length of the necklace cord at its longest setting is 29" and 16" at its shortest setting.
The dimensions of the cabochon are 2.05"x 1.30"x .17"
The weight of the necklace is 20 grams.
