Malachite Adjustable Necklace

This is a Hand Carved Malachite Adjustable Genuine Leather Necklace that I recently made for sale. The necklace cord is made with sliding knots allowing you to adjust the length of the cord to your preferred fit.

Malachite is known for its vibrant green color. It forms from the oxidation of copper minerals when they interact with CO2 rich ground water near the surface. The oxidation of the Copper gives the stone its green color. Malachite is a relatively soft mineral between a 3-4 on the Mohs scale soft enough for a knife to scratch the surface.

I made the necklace with rough malachite ore that I purchased at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.

The Necklace cord is 30" at its longest setting and 16" at its shortest setting.

The pendant weight is 135 carats or 27 grams.
The dimensions of the pendant are 1.77"x 1.25"x .38"

The total Necklace weight is 30 grams.
