Malachite Adjustable Necklace

This is an Adjustable Malachite Leather Necklace that I recently made for sale.

The Necklace is made with 2mm genuine leather cord and tied with sliding knots allowing you to adjust the length to your preferred fit.

Malachite is known for its vibrant green color. It forms from the oxidation of copper minerals when they interact with CO2 rich ground water near the surface. The oxidation of the Copper gives the stone its green color. Malachite is a relatively soft mineral between a 3-4 on the Mohs scale soft enough for a knife to scratch the surface.

I made the necklace with rough malachite ore that I purchased at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.

The Length of the necklace cord at its longest setting is about 30" and 16" at its shortest setting.

The dimensions of the pendant stone are 1.7"x 1.75"x .25"
The weight of the necklace is 27 grams.
