Malachite Pendant Necklace

This is a Adjustable Malachite Leather Necklace that I recently made for sale. The Necklace is made with genuine leather cord and tied with sliding knots allowing you to adjust the length to your preferred fit.

Malachite is known for its vibrant green color. It forms from the oxidation of copper minerals when they interact with CO2 rich ground water near the surface. The oxidation of the Copper gives the stone its green color. Malachite is a relatively soft mineral between a 3-4 on the Mohs scale soft enough for a knife to scratch the surface.

I made the necklace with rough malachite ore that I purchased at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.

The necklace length is 30" at the longest setting and 17" at the shortest setting.

The pendant weight is 90 carats or 18 grams.

The dimensions of the pendant are 1.7"x .7"x .3"
