Dendritic Opal Cabochon

$17.00Price

This is a Cabochon I recently made from some Dendritic Opal that I collected while on a rockhounding trip to Fremont County Wyoming.

There are two main types of Opal: Precious and Common. Precious Opals have the rainbow color pattern caused by reflecting light known as iridescence. Common Opals do not have the rainbow pattern. They are often found in monocolors of white or green.

Dendritic Opal falls into the catagory of Common Opal. This particular one is a white Common Opal with black dendritic patterns caused by manganese staining.

The dimensions are 2"x 1.4"x .3" The weight is 23 grams.
