Blue Mountain Picture Jasper Necklace
This is a Blue Mountain Picture Jasper Necklace that I recently made for sale. The necklace is made with a brown genuine leather cord that I tied with sliding knots allowing you to adjust the necklace to your preferred length.
Blue Mountain Picture Jasper is a unique variety of picture jasper that comes from a single mine in McDermitt Oregon. Blue Mountain Picture Jasper is known for its orb and banded patterns along with a nice array of colors. Common colors range from dark blue to olive green, yellow, and gray. This stone is considered rare because it only has one known source.
I went through my normal necklace making process to make this item. Cut a slab, sanded the rough shape, rounded and polished the stone, drilled a hole through the cabochon, then tied and added a leather cord to complete the necklace.
The main colors are dark green, olive green, and yellow.
The rough material was purchased at the Hairy Mosquito Rock and Gem show here in Milaca Minnesota.
The length of the necklace at its longest setting is about 30" and around 16" at the shortest setting.
The dimensions of the pendant stone are 1.00"x .53"x .25"
The weight of the necklace is 5 grams.
